Update on Everything...

I love this picture!!! I took it just after I turned out the light and Evan was crawling in bed and I took a picture with the flash on. I just have to smile when I see this picture.

Well it has been another hectic couple of days for me and Evan.

Monday passed without any problems and we were very grateful. On Tuesday at around 11:20 we got a call from my father and were told my mom was going to be flown out from Globe to Phoenix. While driving to her doctor's appointment, during her lunch hour, she started feeling funny. When she got to the doctor's office she asked if she could be seen sooner because something was feeling right. She sat down in the waiting room and began to feel worse. She went back up to the counter and by then she had symptoms of a droopy face and slurred speech. These symptoms can be signs of a stroke. They called the EMT's and when they arrived they decided they thought it could be a stroke so they were going to fly her out. Evan and I got off work early and headed down to Mesa. They had taken my mom to Banner Baywood. When we got there she was still in the ER. They did and exam and blood tests but hadn't found anything. The doctor's admitted her and placed her in the Stroke Unit. They didn't do any tests while we were there but later that night they did several tests. On Wednesday they still didn't know what was going on. The doctor's decided that they were going to keep her another day and preform some more tests. She is doing fine and just wished they would find what was going on.

This morning my friend Christina's sister-in-law Dorinda passed away. She had been sick for about six years with scleroderma. She was in the hospital for three weeks and recently transfered to UCLA for a lung transfer. She wasn't well enough for a lung transplant and over the last few days her health deteriorated rapidly. Both of her lungs developed tears and collapsed. Dorinda's husband is not doing so well and is really taking it hard.

Our last couple of weeks have been really stressful on us both and we hope that soon we will be able to relax. We both have a vacation coming up and will take the time to relax then.

Craziness in life

Sometimes life just throws everything at you at once.

Evan and I went to Texas this last weekend for his Peepaw's 90th birthday. I completely love Evan's Peepaw. He is just too cute (see photo to the right). We had a wonderful time and really hated leaving when it was time to go. We left a day early so we could go and pick up our dogs. Before we left Evan was coming down with something and it just continued to get worse. Evan had to call off work on Tuesday. We live in the middle of nowhere so Evan had to get a doctor's appointment in a town fifty miles away. Evan had to call off on Wednesday so he could go to the doctor appt. at 8:30 in the morning. Well that story was to tell you this one.

I read my myspace account and found out that a friend of mine is on life support at an LA hospital and is not likely to survive. She has a disease that she has been fighting for about six years and it is finally taking her over. She has scleroderma, a disease that makes the sink tighten or harden and the disease can and has spread to her lungs. The doctors think she possible got an infection that cause severe damage to her lungs. She is on the lung transplant list but for the transplant she will need to be health enough to survive it. We are all hoping for the best but brassing for the worst. Please keep her in your prayers.
One more thing...
Today we found out that Evan's cousin Shawn and his wife Nicole had some big problems today. Nicole, who was pregnant and due April 15th, had to have an emergency C-section. She developed preeclamsia and the doctors had to take the baby as soon as possible. The baby was born and weight 2lbs 7 ozs. and 15 inches long. Her name is Emolyn Kate Thompson. Her lungs are working great and she doesn't require oxygen. Now Shawn and Nicole have to wait for the time when they can take her home from the hospital. Nicole will be able to go home in four days.
All this hit us in just a few days. Evan and I are both in low spirits right now and need some pick me ups.
Well tomorrow is Saturday and maybe we can just sit and relax and just be this weekend.

Monday mornings... YUCK!

I, probably like everyone else in the world, hate Monday mornings. After having a great weekend of relaxation and getting some housework done, waking up at 6:00 am is not pleasant. Today was especially a crappy. I awoke ten minutes before my alarm because I had to use the bathroom, BAD. I apparently drank a lot of water before going to bed. I wanted that extra ten minutes so I crawled back into bed. I had just gotten back to sleep when my first alarm went off. I have two alarms set because I NEVER wake up on the first one. I cussed out the alarm and then went back to sleep and waited for my second alarm. Again the alarm went off and I cussed at it. I turned off the second alarm and went back to sleep. BAD IDEA. I woke up ten minutes later, which means I was already ten minutes behind in getting ready.
I walked into the Post Office and after seeing the amount of mail that had been dropped off this morning I was tempted to cuss again. After organizing all the letter trays, we had 42 feet of mail. Feet of mail is just that 12 inches of letters. It took me and a coworker two hours to sort all the letters. I started the letters at 7 and Jody, my co-worker, started helping me at around 8:30. We were finally finished with boxing the mail at 12:30. Usually it only takes us until 10:00 or 10:30 to get the mail up. Long story short I am exhausted!!!
My weekend was not so eventful.
On Saturday Evan and I had our Valentine's date. We went to Phoenix. We had a great dinner and went to a movie. We watched "Bucket List". This is a movie I would highly recommend. It is so funny. I was laughing so hard. Although the cancer story line was a bit much for Evan. We both were crying at the end of the movie. We had our valentine's date this weekend because on Thursday we will be taking our dogs to Globe for my parents to babysit so we will not be able to have a Valentine's Day. We are going to Texas on Friday for Evan's Peepaw's 90th birthday party.
On Sunday we both sleep in until about 9:30. We didn't get back from Phoenix until after midnight. We relaxed all morning and around 3:00 we decided to finally start doing the things we had planned. I scrubbed the living room carpet and then rearranged the furniture. Evan spent his afternoon digging a trench in the backyard for our composite wood fence to go in. We have been trying to get the fence up since July. We are finally starting to get it done. We finished our separate work, then cooked dinner and did the dishes together. I burnt the crap out of my hand. All in all the weekend was great.
Sorry to have bored you for so long.

Super Bowl Sunday

I woke up this morning, took a shower, and then woke Evan up so we could go to church. We went to Phoenix for church and lunch with Etna. We had lunch with several people from church at Red Lobster. I LOVE Red Lobster. Evan and I even had Red Lobster for dinner after our wedding. We had lunch and then raced home to watch the Super Bowl.
Well I am not a true Patriots fan, but I do like them better than the Giants. I am a Cardinals fan. I watched the Super Bowl and was biting my nails the whole game. I was shocked by the out come. It was a great game. There are several plays I wished had gone the other way.
I am now getting ready for bed and am really wishing that weekends were longer than this. Two days are not long enough. Well back to work tomorrow.
