This year I wanted to keep my blog updated more but life has been sooo busy. I was doing better but with the Christmas season I was unable to keep it up. I work for the Postal Service so from about Thanksgiving to New Year's I am extremely busy. I have been trying to balance: working six days a week, playing boss for a week and a half while my boss was on her elk hunt, working in a neighboring Post Office because another employee tore her Achilles tendon, shopping for Christmas, keeping up house work, helping Evan with two band concerts, and trying to fit everyone in for Christmas visits. It usually takes the entire month of January to recover from the Post Office Christmas season. Not just physically recover but I have to get my house back in order. I have let many of my chores go by for weeks. I hate having a house that is not as clean as I would like it. I even have a list of chores that need to be done in a week with a place next to each chore to initial saying that it was done. Maybe that will be my next blog.
I have many pictures to share but I have to wait for Evan to fix his computer. Maybe later next week. One minute to New Year's so got to go. HAPPY NEW YEAR'S!!!

State Marching Festival
What a crazy week and weekend we had. On Monday Evan found out that the football team (who made it into the State playoffs) was playing Northwest Christian High School (Phoenix) in their first playoff game on Friday night. The school administration had already informed Evan that they wanted the band to attend the game. Evan talked with the administrators more and they came to the conclusion that if it was not too expensive the band could rent hotel rooms and be only 20 minutes away from the site of the State Marching Festival, which took place on Saturday.
Evan spent time researching the many different hotels in the area to get the best price and the best location. He also wanted hotels that had breakfast served in the morning. Finally he found one that fit all the criteria needed. The price was low enough and the location was great. We then had to plan what we were going to do with the dogs for those two days we would be gone. Our only solution was to take them to my parents house. I am so grateful to have that option. Our dogs love my parents. We packed the dogs into the Santa Fe and headed to Globe on Thursday night.
Evan packed when we got back from Globe but I wanted to wait until Friday. I got off early and barely had everything done by the time we left Kearny at 4:00 and headed to the football game. The game was great. It had us on our toes the entire time. The officials were some of the worst so far this season. I am not just saying that for calls against our team but for the other team too. The game ran into overtime. In the end we had a heartbreaking loss of 27-28, with a missed kick for the extra point.
We had to wait for one of the football players because he was our electric bass guitar player. We didn't get to stop for dinner before the game and everyone needed to eat. Evan had promised the band a trip to In N Out burger. Not my favorite meal but it satisfied my hunger. Now it was on to the hotel for the night.
After realizing the storage compartments under the bus did not have locks we knew we would have to take all the instruments and the bass guitar's huge amp into the rooms with us. NOBODY liked that idea but there was absolutely nothing better to do. Evan went to check in while everyone else stayed on the bus to wait. Finally twenty minutes later (at about 12:45 a.m.) we were able to get the kids off the bus and unloading. Evan and I had a room to ourselves but before we could get into the room the front desk clerk said there was a problem. We waited while she spoke to the manager. She had a very worried look on her face and I was starting to get worried. I thought maybe they had given out our room and there were not rooms left. I was thinking "Oh, great I am going to sleep on floor". She finally got off the phone and informed us that something had happened to the room we were assigned. She looked very worried now. She said they could give us another room but she was afraid there was only one room left and it only had a king size bed in it. I laughed out loud. I then informed the clerk that Evan and I were married and one bed was fine. She looked soooo relieved. We taped the kids in their rooms and finally got to bed at about two in the morning. This is getting to be a long blog but bear with me a little bit longer.
I did not want to get up when the alarm went off at 6:30 a.m. Evan and I had to get up and dress so we could make sure all the kids were attempting to get out of bed. Our phone rang at 6:45; it was one of the flag sponsors. She had gone to get breakfast and was informed that they did not have a breakfast but they did have a coffee machine if she would like some coffee. We then had to scramble to get the kids ready, the bus loaded, and check out of the hotel in time to take the kids to breakfast.
We made it to the State Marching Festival site with moments to spare. The band and flags put on a great show. We were very pleased with the final performance of the year. When the results were announced we were excited to have received a score of EXCELLENT. This only being Evan's second year with the band I was very proud of what he has done with it. Everyone was exhausted so needless to say the ride home was a very quiet one. Below are pictures I took after I woke up. All in all a great weekend.

EAC BAND DAY
On Saturday the Ray High School Marching Band went to Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, AZ for a marching festival. We had to leave Kearny at 5:30 am so we would make it in time for our warm ups at 8:30. We made it just in time. We had a few mishaps along the way. Evan forgot to print out two of the bass guitarist's music and had to go home to print it out. We forgot the bass guitarist's folder with the remaining song in it. We forgot to get the uniform and instrument for one of the band members we were going to be picking up in Winkelman on the way to Globe. Luckily we had the flag sponsors taking their own vehicle go back to the school and pick up the uniform and instrument. A student was late thirty minutes and had to be woken up by another student, who is related to her.
When we finally arrived we only had seven minutes to warm up and then head to the field to perform. The kids did a great job. It was the best performance so far this year. We were excited to learn that we received a rating of SUPERIOR. Superior is the highest rating you can get at a marching festival. We also received a caption for Marching. A caption is basically the band that did the best at something. Getting a superior put into the State Marching Festival. So this coming up Saturday we will be going to Glendale to compete with all the 1A, 2A, and 3A division 4 bands who received an excellent or higher in a state qualifying marching festival. It will be another long but fun day. I only hope I remember the sunscreen this time. Evan, I, and most of the band all had one side of our faces sunburned. Here are some pictures of the trophy for the caption in marching and the plaque for Superior.

Halloween!!!
Evan and I had a great time dressing up the dogs for Halloween. We wanted to dress the dogs up last year but never got around to buying the costumes. I had the costumes ordered in September. Copper was suppose to be Spiderman but when the costume was tried on it was way to wide for him. Spike, my mom's Pug, was suppose to be a pumpkin and we ended up swapping Copper and Spike's costumes. Here are several of the great pictures we were able to get.

The costumes didn't stay on long but we were able to at least get some pictures. We took the dogs to Globe to visit my mom and we put their costumes back on to show her. They had a fun night playing with my mom's dogs while we went to Holyween, a safe alternative (for small children) to trick or treating door to door, at Trinity Baptist Church. At Holyween the kids get to go to many different booths and play games to win prizes and candy. There were two jumping castle and free food. I was able to see my nieces and nephew in their costumes. Ashley was a doctor. Jenna was a witch. Aaron was a skeleton. My dad, who was helping with security for the night, decided to get in on the fun and put on Jenna's witch hat for a laugh.

Just a little catching up
Here is my mom's pug Spike. He was visiting us for a while here in Kearny. It was in the early part of August and Spike over heats easily. We have a kiddie pool in our back yard for the dogs to enjoy while they are outside. Copper doesn't care it much.
This is Evan's dog Reagan. He LOVES to climb on the couch with Evan and fall asleep. Reagan is a large dog and fitting him on the couch can be a challenge, but we get him there.
This is Evan's band. He is enjoying his second year as a band director. We now have flags. We are having a fun year. I have not posted in some time. We are busy, busy people.
This is a picture of the students Evan and I took to Four Seasons Music Camp in July. We had a blast. The only
The crazy people above are the girls from my cabin at camp. Yes, tie-dyed shirts are the dress code for the day of the concert. If you are not wearing a shirt you look very out of place. We all had nicknames. I got the name of Nice Luzer. Luzer is from a t-shirt I wear to bed that says on the front LUZER and on the back "Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." Jesus Matthew 10:39. This shirt is the most comfortable shirt I own. I would wear it everyday if I could. We also had Munchie (this girl fell asleep sucking on a ring pop. The ring pop was in her hair the next morning), The Giggler (this was a Kearny girl that would giggle at anything you said), Smiley (she didn't talk much but you could always see her pearly whites), Miss Pretty Eyes (she had pretty eyes, duh), Curly ( she had very curly hair), Rapunzel ( she had to longest hair at the camp), Little Creepy Girl (she wore black the whole time there and she had a similar nickname before), Bambi (previous nickname), and last but not least Froggy (this girl loved frogs). I plan on attending next year. It will be interesting to see how many more people go from Kearny. This year we had five girls and five boys.
This is a picture of the fruits of our labor. We have enjoyed picking and eating the vegatables from our garden all summer. We are now going to look for some winter plants to grow. Having a garden has saved us lots of money on vegatables. Its been a long week and I still have a day and a half (Saturday) to work before my weekend can start. My boss is on a turkey hunt so me and my coworker are sharing the responsibilities of being Postmaster. Well more later. Bed time now.

It's been a while
Evan is on his way to Palm Springs to help Lyle move back to Tucson. He is flying out there right now. He just called from Las Vegas and is now boarding another plane bound for Palm Springs. I am glad he gets to go and help out Lyle. He always wants to spend more time with Lyle and now he finally gets to.
I finally got to use Evan's computer now that he is out of state. I have many pictures to post. Hopefully it is not too many. These are some pictures of my niece Cloe and our trip to the Boyce-Thompson Arboretum. In the fifth picture if you look in the middle of the photo you can see a Gila Monster we saw on a path.

Cloe will be three months old on June 19th. She is so beautiful. Our garden is going great. We have had to replant a couple of squash plants because transplanting did not go so well. Our corn is about a two feet tall. We are happy with our garden but now we have to get something to stop the bugs. They are eating all our leaves. I have been trying to stay awake to wait for Evan to call and say he made it to Palm Springs but I am exhausted. I spent three hours cleaning and organizing our office/library/music room. Now Evan has a clean desk to work on. Well I am falling asleep Goodnight.

Our garden is done...almost!
Yesterday after work my parents picked up Evan and me and we went to Coolidge. My sister Ginger and her husband Jerry had a piano they didn't want anymore. They were going to take it to the dump so we said we would give it a home. It needs to be tuned and the keys need to be cleaned but other than that it will work for now. We will probably get another piano somewhere down the line but for now this one is great. I gave it a Pledge polish bath last night and it really started to look good. We are now going to have to find a place to put it permanently. We have it in the dining room and that just wont do. We have to have a yard sale or something.
When my parents came to pick us up they dropped off the rototiller. So Evan and I woke up this morning, after sleeping in of course, and started working on the garden. We had to work on getting all the grass out of the garden. This was a chore because that section of the yard was over run by grass. We are going to have to really watch the garden and make sure we pull all the grass and weeds. We removed all the grass and weeds we could see. Evan forgot how to start the rototiller so we decided to eat lunch and then call my dad for a refresher course. We had tuna fish sandwiches and then took a break on working in the garden. I was able to get two loads of laundry done and then I was able to strip our bed and get the linens washed. I didn't get done what I needed to get done but it was still a productive day. I didn't do the dishes. I didn't clean the mattress. I didn't finish all the laundry. I am only half done on putting the linens back on our bed.
We did get our garden done. We returned to the task of getting the top soil mixed in the ground using the rototiller after we watched the Suns blasted away the Spurs. YAY! This was not as simple as we thought. We had to remember what to do with the settings on the rototiller. After a few minutes of getting it all wrong, we were finally elated to have the rototiller working properly and tilling up the land. We went over the ground once with no top soil and the tossed the soil on the ground and tilled again. We raked all the grass roots that were brought up by the tiller. Then with a spade we mapped out the rows of our garden. We have half a row of beans, one row with green onions and carrots, one row of spinach and mustard greens, one row of okra, four mounds with summer squash, yellow squash, and zucchini, and finally two large mounds with watermelon. We still have some space for something else we can put by the beans but we will have to decide what later. We need to add chicken wire around the garden so the dogs can't get in there when they are up on the top level of our backyard with Evan and me.
We can't wait to have something grow in the garden and be able to eat something we grew. Well I have to go so that I can finish making my bed so I can crawl in it and be asleep before my head hits the pillow. I am exhausted and I am sore in muscle I forgot I had. Thank God for work tomorrow. It will give me a brake for my house chores.

LONG WEEK
The week is finally at an end. I have watched as my beloved Suns have gone down in three games and are now behind in a best of seven. One more lost game and we will have to wait until next year for another chance at the title.
I worked more this week then I have in a while. I love the money but chores around the house slack off. I have loads and loads of laundry to do. I have to strip the beds and wash all the linens. Evan and I are going to vacuum and scrub our mattress. I have a sink full of dishes to do. I just have to make myself come home from work and get all of this done so weekends can be mine. Maybe one of these days I will do that.
We are still working on our garden. We are waiting for my parents rototiller so we can work the top soil into the ground. We have done some starter plants so that when the ground is ready we may already have small plants.
I was so happy it was Friday and then I had to go and ruin it by cracking a crown on tooth that had a root canal done on it about 11 years ago. Dentist appointment on Monday now. UGH!
Well tomorrow is another work day and then finally a day off on Sunday. Maybe I will just relax.

Papaw's Funeral
Today Papaw body was taken to its final resting place. I have never been to a funeral where the Honor Guard was present.
The pallbearers were members of the Honor Guard. They carried Papaw's flag covered casket to the grave site.
One man stood off to the side and saluted as the casket passed by him.
Once the casket was place at the site the Honor Guard started the folding of the flag. This is an exciting thing to see. We watched closely as they carefully folded the flag with great precision. After the flag was folded a man played Taps on a bugle and at this point everyone lost it. The song was just so beautiful and so final. At some point there was a nine gun solute. I know this because there was a collective startled jump throughout the crowd. The flag was then presented to Mamaw. The Honor Guard was then finished with their ceremony and left.
Uncle Randy got up and did a beautiful and very moving Eulogy. It was a story of his Dad. A great story of a honorable and very loving man. Miranda got up and read a poem that Mamaw had written about herself and Papaw. We sang two hymns: In the Garden and How Great Thou Art. We prayed and then headed to Mamaw's house to fellowship with the family more.
After everyone had left the cemetery Lyle, Etna, Evan, and I placed roses on Papaw's casket. Etna had picked the roses off of roses bushes in her yard that are dedicated to Barry and Patty.

Back at the house we ate, drank (tea, water, lemonade, and soda), and were merry. We talked and told stories. I meet several people I had never met before. It was a very good day, in spite of the circumstances. I was able to meet Evan's Uncle Bob. I have heard stories of Uncle Bob since I met Evan. I have wanted for some time to be able to go to South Carolina to see Uncle Bob and Aunt Sandy but things haven't worked out that way. I was so excited to meet the Uncle that has been described to me as the one that most resembles Barry(looks, mannerisms, and personality). I never had the privilege to meet Barry but if he was anything like any of his brothers I would have fallen in love with him too.

Tough week....
Sorry I haven't done a post in a while. Evan and I have been busy with other things. We are trying to start a garden and have been needing to get my parents rototiller to till the dirt with the top soil we have put out on the ground. I have been trying to keep the house clean and the laundry done. I didn't realize how much laundry two people can make. It is amazing. I do four loads during the week and several on the weekends. When I change our sheets and bedspreads that takes another four to five loads (we have two beds and a dog bed).
We went to visit Evan's Papaw on Wednesday and Sunday of last week. We were having to say goodbye to a great man who had meant a lot to both of us. Papaw was slipping away from his life here on Earth to go to heaven to spend eternity and to see Barry (Evan's dad) and Patty (Evan's Aunt who passed away in the 70's) again. Papaw passed away on Wednesday, April 15th at 2:55am. He is missed already. My sister told me to just look at it as we now have another angel looking over us. Papaw reminded me of my own 94 year old grandpa who I don't get to see that often. Even though he was Evan's Papaw, I have gotten to know Papaw in the two and a half years I have known Evan and I loved him from the moment I met him. He was my Papaw too. I will really miss his hugs and his conversations. He was a great hugger and listening to his stories was always an adventure.
I will always remember how he loved and cherished Mamaw. I hope in 65 years Evan and I will have as much admiration and love for each other as they did.
We went to the funeral of Seth Binette (Evan's friend from high school).
Seth was only 25 and was taken away from us way to early. He was a believer so we know we will meet him again in heaven but he is still missed.
Papaw's funeral is Friday. I will be at Mamaw's house for the next couple of days so my next blog wont be for a few days. Please pray for us and Evan's family, as this is hard on everyone.

UUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!
Evan and I were on vacation two weeks ago and both of us got our internal clocks messed up. We are now both up until about 12:30 and have to wake up at 6:00(me) and 7:00(Evan). We have tried for two weeks to get back on a sleep schedule that works but we just can't force ourselves to go to bed. We are not tired! When we do get tired we fall asleep in the afternoon and then by 10:00 at night we are wide awake. For example right now it is 10:42pm and we are both sitting here wide awake. Evan is on his computer entering music for his band concert in May and I am updating my blog. I just saw a commercial for a product called flush the fat. Great late night TV. Well we have to get the dogs ready for bed and them maybe I will just go lay down and try to sleep. Maybe read a book to make myself sleepy.

Another cute picture of CLOE!
Isn't she beautiful? This is my niece. She got to go home on Thursday night. I can't wait to go and see her again. Yesterday was Evan's 28th Birthday and Easter. What a full day we had. We woke up early to attend church with Etna. Evan got to pick the place we ate lunch at and he chose one of my favorite restaurants Texas Roadhouse. Evan and I took a long nap and when we woke up Lyle was there. We had a great dinner and a ice cream cake. Evan and I were exhausted when we decided to leave at 9:30pm.
Evan and I both started work again today after having a week off. It was nice to get back to our usual. I would have liked to get more things done during our vacation week but what we did get done really helped. My boss' grandma is extremely ill right now and in need of prayer. She has a blood clot and tumor in her lungs. She also has congenital heart failure. I will keep you posted on how she is doing.

VACATION!!!
Evan and I are on vacation. We aren't going anywhere, but we don't have to work so it's a vacation to us. This week is Evan's spring break and I took this week off to be with him. We decided not to go anywhere and work on stuff here at home. We are still trying to get the fence up in our back yard. We are going to get as far on that as we can. We also have a list of all the stuff we want to get done this week. We will probably only get about half of them done but at least we will get something done.
On the list are things like put things on Ebay to sell, put up fence in backyard, mow and get the weeds out of the lawn, spread grass seeds, plant flowers in the front flower beds, and file paperwork such as bills and pay stubs. I have been trying to keep up on the filing but have managed to get about four inches worth of paperwork stacked and waiting for me. We bought some flowers this morning to plant in the flower beds now we just need to work the soil and get the weeds out of them. I also want to get the garden going but Evan is really wanting to get the fence up so that comes first.
I have been doing better lately. I still start crying out of nowhere, but not as often. I had a dream the other night about our baby and got a glimpse of how beautiful she would have been. Yes I said she because in the dream she was in purple and there is no way Evan would let me put a son in purple. Etna brought up something while she was visiting this last weekend that really helped me and Evan a lot. She reminded us that even though she wasn't going to be a grandparent yet it was a comfort to her that Barry was a grandpa now. She told us that Barry and her sister Janie would watch her for us. Well Evan has gone to bed already and I didn't realize how late it was. Goodnight.

One day at a time...
Evan and I are doing better with every passing day. We are still saddened by the events of this past week but we know that God has a reason for everything. We are slowly taking it one day at a time and letting our hearts heal. I absolutely love that song...One Day at a Time. My mom and us girls used to sing it all the time.
I have a friend named Deidre who also has a blog. I wrote her and email letting her know what had happened. She wrote a poem for me and if you go to her blog you can read it. www.justawhisper.blogspot.com
I went to the doctor today to get some blood work done. They have to make sure my hcg levels are going down and/or gone. Evan and I are going to wait a while before even thinking about trying again. We both know that we can't put ourselves through the same heartache as we have experienced. Everything hit Evan harder on Monday because he had to tell his students what had happened. To my surprise many students actually cried. Some of these kids really love Evan.
My parents came over on Saturday and spent the night. They were here to pick up their rototiller. We had borrowed it in July to till up the back top yard. I told them if they wanted to have it back they needed to help us use it. I had forgotten how to start the darn thing. Evan and I are going to try and grow some vegetables. Here in Kearny the vegetables at the store are not very tasty and are very expensive. We need to till the ground one more time before we can start to plant. I haven't had a garden since I was in high school. We had a great garden. It had mustard and collared greens, okra, corn, yellow squash, and zucchini. I loved going into the garden to pick the vegetables and then cooking them for dinner. In high school since I didn't have an after school activity I did most of the cooking. I loved cooking. I miss having that time to myself to pick the vegetables fresh from the garden and then prepare them with the meal. I hope we can get the garden started before to long. At least that will give me something to keep my mind on.

Life's cruel jokes and timing
Well, a week ago I was shocked but happy to be expecting. Now a week later I am shocked and sadden because of a miscarriage. Evan and I went to the ER on Thursday night at around 10:00pm because of some complications I was having. We were finally taken back to an ER bed at around 12:30am. I had several ultrasounds, blood work, urine tests, and a pelvic exam. I also got a rH shot because my rH factor is negative and that could cause problems with future pregnancies. At around 5:15 this morning the doctor came in and let us know that I had possibly miscarried because there was no evidence that I was still pregnant. I have to make a doctor's appointment to check my hcg level which was around 58 and should be alot higher at five weeks.
Evan and I are extremely sadden by this turn of events but find that God always has a reason for everything and this may be a blessing in disguise. We really cant afford a baby right now, but we were willing to make it work. We both know now that having a baby is something that we both want. We still have the mind set of when it happens, it happens, so maybe someday soon we will be blessed with another pregnancy.

Update on Everything...
Well it has been another hectic couple of days for me and Evan.
Monday passed without any problems and we were very grateful. On Tuesday at around 11:20 we got a call from my father and were told my mom was going to be flown out from Globe to Phoenix. While driving to her doctor's appointment, during her lunch hour, she started feeling funny. When she got to the doctor's office she asked if she could be seen sooner because something was feeling right. She sat down in the waiting room and began to feel worse. She went back up to the counter and by then she had symptoms of a droopy face and slurred speech. These symptoms can be signs of a stroke. They called the EMT's and when they arrived they decided they thought it could be a stroke so they were going to fly her out. Evan and I got off work early and headed down to Mesa. They had taken my mom to Banner Baywood. When we got there she was still in the ER. They did and exam and blood tests but hadn't found anything. The doctor's admitted her and placed her in the Stroke Unit. They didn't do any tests while we were there but later that night they did several tests. On Wednesday they still didn't know what was going on. The doctor's decided that they were going to keep her another day and preform some more tests. She is doing fine and just wished they would find what was going on.
This morning my friend Christina's sister-in-law Dorinda passed away. She had been sick for about six years with scleroderma. She was in the hospital for three weeks and recently transfered to UCLA for a lung transfer. She wasn't well enough for a lung transplant and over the last few days her health deteriorated rapidly. Both of her lungs developed tears and collapsed. Dorinda's husband is not doing so well and is really taking it hard.
Our last couple of weeks have been really stressful on us both and we hope that soon we will be able to relax. We both have a vacation coming up and will take the time to relax then.

Craziness in life
Sometimes life just throws everything at you at once.
Evan and I went to Texas this last weekend for his Peepaw's 90th birthday. I completely love Evan's Peepaw. He is just too cute (see photo to the right). We had a wonderful time and really hated leaving when it was time to go. We left a day early so we could go and pick up our dogs. Before we left Evan was coming down with something and it just continued to get worse. Evan had to call off work on Tuesday. We live in the middle of nowhere so Evan had to get a doctor's appointment in a town fifty miles away. Evan had to call off on Wednesday so he could go to the doctor appt. at 8:30 in the morning. Well that story was to tell you this one.
I read my myspace account and found out that a friend of mine is on life support at an LA hospital and is not likely to survive. She has a disease that she has been fighting for about six years and it is finally taking her over. She has scleroderma, a disease that makes the sink tighten or harden and the disease can and has spread to her lungs. The doctors think she possible got an infection that cause severe damage to her lungs. She is on the lung transplant list but for the transplant she will need to be health enough to survive it. We are all hoping for the best but brassing for the worst. Please keep her in your prayers.
One more thing...
Today we found out that Evan's cousin Shawn and his wife Nicole had some big problems today. Nicole, who was pregnant and due April 15th, had to have an emergency C-section. She developed preeclamsia and the doctors had to take the baby as soon as possible. The baby was born and weight 2lbs 7 ozs. and 15 inches long. Her name is Emolyn Kate Thompson. Her lungs are working great and she doesn't require oxygen. Now Shawn and Nicole have to wait for the time when they can take her home from the hospital. Nicole will be able to go home in four days.
All this hit us in just a few days. Evan and I are both in low spirits right now and need some pick me ups.
Well tomorrow is Saturday and maybe we can just sit and relax and just be this weekend.

Monday mornings... YUCK!

I, probably like everyone else in the world, hate Monday mornings. After having a great weekend of relaxation and getting some housework done, waking up at 6:00 am is not pleasant. Today was especially a crappy. I awoke ten minutes before my alarm because I had to use the bathroom, BAD. I apparently drank a lot of water before going to bed. I wanted that extra ten minutes so I crawled back into bed. I had just gotten back to sleep when my first alarm went off. I have two alarms set because I NEVER wake up on the first one. I cussed out the alarm and then went back to sleep and waited for my second alarm. Again the alarm went off and I cussed at it. I turned off the second alarm and went back to sleep. BAD IDEA. I woke up ten minutes later, which means I was already ten minutes behind in getting ready.
I walked into the Post Office and after seeing the amount of mail that had been dropped off this morning I was tempted to cuss again. After organizing all the letter trays, we had 42 feet of mail. Feet of mail is just that 12 inches of letters. It took me and a coworker two hours to sort all the letters. I started the letters at 7 and Jody, my co-worker, started helping me at around 8:30. We were finally finished with boxing the mail at 12:30. Usually it only takes us until 10:00 or 10:30 to get the mail up. Long story short I am exhausted!!!
My weekend was not so eventful.
On Saturday Evan and I had our Valentine's date. We went to Phoenix. We had a great dinner and went to a movie. We watched "Bucket List". This is a movie I would highly recommend. It is so funny. I was laughing so hard. Although the cancer story line was a bit much for Evan. We both were crying at the end of the movie. We had our valentine's date this weekend because on Thursday we will be taking our dogs to Globe for my parents to babysit so we will not be able to have a Valentine's Day. We are going to Texas on Friday for Evan's Peepaw's 90th birthday party.
On Sunday we both sleep in until about 9:30. We didn't get back from Phoenix until after midnight. We relaxed all morning and around 3:00 we decided to finally start doing the things we had planned. I scrubbed the living room carpet and then rearranged the furniture. Evan spent his afternoon digging a trench in the backyard for our composite wood fence to go in. We have been trying to get the fence up since July. We are finally starting to get it done. We finished our separate work, then cooked dinner and did the dishes together. I burnt the crap out of my hand. All in all the weekend was great.
Sorry to have bored you for so long.

Super Bowl Sunday
I woke up this morning, took a shower, and then woke Evan up so we could go to church. We went to Phoenix for church and lunch with Etna. We had lunch with several people from church at Red Lobster. I LOVE Red Lobster. Evan and I even had Red Lobster for dinner after our wedding. We had lunch and then raced home to watch the Super Bowl.
Well I am not a true Patriots fan, but I do like them better than the Giants. I am a Cardinals fan. I watched the Super Bowl and was biting my nails the whole game. I was shocked by the out come. It was a great game. There are several plays I wished had gone the other way.
I am now getting ready for bed and am really wishing that weekends were longer than this. Two days are not long enough. Well back to work tomorrow.

Myspace hackers!
I had a comment sent to some friends on my myspace account. This was not a comment from me but it has my name and photo by it. I am really ticked off at the fact that not even a password can help from people getting into you stuff. Well I guess I should be more careful of the passwords I choose.
I had a really long day today and it didn't help that I went to bed at one o'clock this morning. I got a whole five hours of sleep. It doesn't help that my contacts are weeks overdue of being changed and my glasses haven't been mail from Eyemaster's yet. Well I am exhausted and my bed has been calling my name for several hours now.

Saturday to sleep in....NOPE
I love having a Saturday off and a chance to sleep in but not getting to sleep until one o'clock in the morning the night before negates it. I took this Saturday off so that I could host my sister's baby shower. I was looking forward to sleeping in until about eight. I usually wake up on Saturdays at 6:00 to go to work. On Friday I was able to leave work early and when Evan got home we headed to Milano's in Mesa. Evan had some band instruments (well if you think that 22 instruments can be described as some) there getting fixed for several band students. We had instruments filling up the entire back of our SUV. I called Etna (Evan's mother) and asked if she wanted to meet up for a quick dinner. I found out that she was very sick. Evan and I went by Panda Express and bought dinner, then took it back to Etna's house. Etna's was too sick to eat what we had brought for her. Evan and I went to Fry's and bought Etna some groceries to get her through the next couple of days. I made her some Campbell's Chicken and Rice soup. She enjoyed the soup and some crackers before we left. That was 10:00. We had been wanting to go to Bahama Bucks all afternoon and realized that the Bahama Bucks at Power Rd. was still open. I got the Strawberry Cheesecake with cream and Evan got Cherry Cheesecake with cream. YUMMMMMMMM!!!!! By the time we arrived in Kearny, unloaded the band instruments at the high school band room, and then unloaded some of the groceries we had purchase it was coming up on 1:00am.
I was able to sleep in until eight thirty but really wished I could have stayed in bed longer. The baby shower went great. We had fun playing word games and having cake, chips, dip, and gumbo. We realized once we got all the guests in the house that we really should have had the baby shower at a different location. Ginger got a lot of very really great things for little Cloe Louise Vining. Ginger is now 32 weeks and only going to get bigger. My only hope is that she doesn't have the baby while I am in California during Spring Break. Ginger's due date is March 20th and I am going to be in California from March 16th - 20th. Well we will see. After finally getting home and settling down I am getting very sleepy. Night.
